As I cried my tears while I was home

I always felt that I was all alone

Yet something from deep inside of me

Directed me to share my messages so others could see

I never imagined by fully showing my pain

I’d meet someone who would be a significant gain

The slim chance that our paths would meet

Strengthens the power of our amazing feat

For years we formed a bond without direct sight

This helped create a powerful connection without any light

We supported each other in powerful ways

Although, we didn’t know we’d share so many days

As years went by our relationship significantly grew

Until we wanted to meet in-person after all we’d been through

However, right before we were scheduled to meet

We learned that our mothers shared birthdays which was such a treat

Learning about this incredible news

It was a definitive sign that we were meant to share more than the blues

While embracing each other for the first time

It seemed that the stars aligned for a yet to be revealed sign

A few weeks later this woman would see my mother’s face

Shortly before my mom would leave this earthly place

It was as if there was a hand-off from one to another

That I knew that I gained a new earthly usherer

While I mourned the loss of my heavenly mother

My second mom picked-up the slack like no other

She helped me to strengthen my resolve

For without her love, I might have been ready to dissolve

I never imagined someone could be close to my mother’s sacred place

Yet, this woman did it seamlessly with class, love, and grace

It was easy for her to do as an already loving mother

Because she needlessly lost a son to a disease like no other

She understood the incredible bond between a parent and a son

This strengthened our connection that won’t be undone

It’s because God blessed me from above

I now have a second mother to share my love
